Incomplete or unstructured patient data can affect the accuracy and efficiency of patient health management. For frontline clinicians managing high patient volumes, varied symptom presentations, and incomplete documentation, the absence of structured data and decision support can lead to variability in diagnosis, longer consultation times, and missed clinical cues.
The Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) is an AI-powered diagnostic assistance solution developed with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Operational since April 2023, it is implemented with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali, and embedded within eSanjeevani, India's national telemedicine platform.
CDSS strengthens diagnostic quality across eSanjeevani's hub-and-spoke model by giving doctors and Community Health Officers (CHOs) structured patient-related information and diagnostic support within existing teleconsultation workflows.
Deployed at national scale through eSanjeevani.
As India continues to expand digital healthcare access, solutions like CDSS will be essential to ensure scale does not come at the cost of quality, building a telemedicine system that is accessible, accurate, efficient, and equitable.
